This stone once formed part of a Louis Vuitton store in Düsseldorf. During a renovation in 2023, 180 kilograms of marble were dismantled and reduced to fragments.

Inspired by Kintsugi, the material is reassembled rather than restored invisibly. Its fractures remain present, transforming discarded stone into a new expression of value, repair and material memory.

The polished marble also reflects light in a striking way, giving the fragmented surface an almost luminous depth. The work reflects on how permanence can emerge through rupture and transformation.

We tought about calling him Louis.. We called him Kingtsugi Marble instead.
